Typical application
The BGZcoder® MP AE5 is easy to install directly in situ without the need for programming, regardless of whether the communication is to take place via SCR(IEC), M-Bus or low-power ECO interface (for radio connecting). The connecting module required is easily fitted (plug & play) to the BGZcoder® MP AE5. Separate seals to the meter register and the connecting module enable the interface to be changed easily without affecting the metrological part of the diaphragm gas meter. Therefore, the multiprotocol solution ensures the necessary modularity and guarantees that today’s decisions are still valid tomorrow. With contactless optoelectronic readout, the data record transmitted always matches the manual reading. The BGZcoder® MP AE5 functions reliably without a battery and is protected against electromagnetic influences and mechanical manipulation
Phase 0 - Smart Ready
GWF’s Smart Ready concept offers maximum security for your investments. The BGZcoder® MP AE5 can already be incorporated in regular meter replacement schedules and can also be used for manual readouts. The meter is already fitted with an electronic data interface. It is not necessary for the provider to decide at this stage whether wired or wireless readouts are required in the future.
Phase 1 – Mobile «Drive-by» and
Phase 2 – Smart Metering
During a later «drive-by» or Smart Metering rollout, the multiprotocol feature means that Smart Ready meters already installed can be migrated to the readout infrastructure. The connecting module allows the communication to be set up for SCR(IEC), M-Bus or ECO via «plug & play». Yesterday’s Smart Ready meter therefore quickly and easily becomes the central component in tomorrow’s Smart Metering system.
